Strengthening the Capacity of Faith-Based Organizations in Kenya | (September 15, 2006) |
The CORE Initiative sponsored a two-week workshop for representatives from the Kenya Network of Religious Leaders Living with and/or Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (KENERELA) and the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) to help improve their organizational capacity in strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, advocacy, partnership building, and networking. During the workshop, participants were guided through the process of developing strategic plans. Sessions included an overview of strategic planning, articulating values and mission statements, developing organizational goals, and monitoring and evaluating strategic plans. As a result of the workshop, participants achieved a better understanding of how to incorporate networking, advocacy and resource mobilization into their strategic plans.
