Abstract: Introduction by the head of the National School of Political Education stressing that eliminating preventable diseases in Uganda by the year 2000 is an important goal. Gives statistics on the number of children in Uganda who die from childhood diseases. Explains that this can be prevented with immunization programs and that Cadres should teach people how to be healthy. Devotes a page to each of the following diseases: measles, tuberculosis, polio, whooping cough, diptheria, tetanus. Explains what UNEPI is, how UNICEF is involved. Discusses the child health card and explains what Cadre can do to advocate for immunization, mobilize people and set a good example.
