Project Description: The objective of this grant is to design a method of care, assistance, counseling, and medicine approaches for people with HIV/AIDS, with their self-reliant and community-based participation. Summarize experiences to reflect, and influence the policies, especially on heroin user gathering and HIV/AIDS. Train personnel as an organization of the masses and personnel doing HIV/AIDS study. Create materials and communication to encourage the masses, volunteers, and HIV infected people to confidently participate in activities, so that AIDS activities are more popular and effective in the communities. Major activities include: 1) Designing and organizing basic activities, such as identifying and developing appropriate IEC materials, telephone hotline, etc.; 2) Developing skills and forming self-help group (training, technical support for new self-help group); 3) Organizing activities for HIV infected people or who are in their last phase of AIDS living in poor communities and who have recently returned home from rehabilitation centers (leaflet distribution, counseling, providing care and support for PWA and communication).

Project Description: Key to a reduction in risk behavior in IDUs is their reintegration into the community. Project Description: The objective of this grant is to improve the living quality of the infected people and promote activity of communication, counseling and support for taking care of the infected people at home and in the community. Major activities include: 1) Providing vocational training and generating jobs for 20 women living with HIV/AIDS; 2) Counseling, caring for and supporting People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA); 3) Improving the management ability for 30 members of the management board of 8 clubs and improving the basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS and for at least 150 members of clubs the safe method to care for HIV infected people and AIDS patients.

Major activities include: 1) Training workshop for youth to understand the problems of HIV/AIDS; 2) Campaign activities to the public to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS; 3) Various youth activities such as sporting events and forums promoting the awareness of AIDS.

Project Description: The objective of this grant is to widen the scope and enhance the quality of the service of caring at home for those who live with HIV/AIDS and their families at district 3, Ho Chi Minh City and Hung Loi ward, Can Tho City. Major activities include: 1) Improving the availability of home-based care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA); 2) Training 50 infected people and their relatives on methods of care at home; 3) Helping people living with HIV/AIDS and their families be sympathized, loved, and helped by the community, thus, reducing stigma and discrimination through some activities, such as carrying out training courses for the community, establishing a club whose members are PLWHA, etc.; 3) Creating jobs for PLWHA.

Project Description: The objective of this grant is to improve living standards for households of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) through the operation of Nhan Ai Club. Specific objectives: 1) Establishment of Nhan Ai club; 2) Raising awareness and skills of home-based care and support for club members; 3) Technical support for households of PLWHA. Major activities include: 1) Using propaganda in order to establish Nhan Ai Club for households of PLWHA in Co Bi and Trau Quy communes; 2) Enhancing knowledge and skills of home–based care and support for club members; 3) Training households of PLWHA on poultry raising techniques to improve their living standards.

Project Description: The objective of this grant is 1) To create an awareness and understanding of the problems of HIV/AIDS focusing on community participation, bringing together core leaders of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHWA), Mountain Youth network, and youth network of Hung Nan Province and the network of Buddhist Monks; 2) To build and strengthen the capacity of core community leaders to use radio as a channel and means to inform the population about the news and status on HIV/AIDS; 3) To create a forum for PLHWA and the community to exchange knowledge and learn about how to collaborate efforts and work in order to coexist together in society. Major activities include: 1) Training workshop for 65 community members in prevention and solving the problems of HIV/AIDS in the community; 2) Youth Camp for 50 youths living in the mountain areas to responding to HIV/AIDS; 3) A forum for 55 socially engaged monks discussing various ways of integrating the awareness of HIV/AIDS in Dhamma talks.
