Project Description: The objective of this grant is 1) To assist in strengthening cooperation between state agencies, community groups and organizations in developing regional solutions which will become models for communities and the society; 2) To develop capacity of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) so that they are enabled to work and collaborate their efforts with local and regional organizations; 3) To develop and strengthen the organization’s network of PLWHA; 4) To assist in improving the overall consciousness of PLWHA in the region; 5) To improve in the organization’s capacity to reach out to society so that they are more aware of the importance of PLWHA.
Major activities include: 1) A camp workshop for newly infected HIV/AIDS victims educating them on how to look after themselves and where to seek general help and assistance; 2) A forum which will become a space where knowledge and information is exchanged among core People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) leaders in collaboration with state organizations and the private sector; 3) Training of PLWHA volunteers to offer a service at the hospital day care providing care and support to newly infected HIV/AIDS patients; 4) Increase capacity building in the areas of employment and self sustainability of those PLWHA; 5) Visiting trips to group members of PLWHA.
