Project Description: The objective of this grant is to design a method of care, assistance, counseling, and medicine approaches for people with HIV/AIDS, with their self-reliant and community-based participation. Summarize experiences to reflect, and influence the policies, especially on heroin user gathering and HIV/AIDS. Train personnel as an organization of the masses and personnel doing HIV/AIDS study. Create materials and communication to encourage the masses, volunteers, and HIV infected people to confidently participate in activities, so that AIDS activities are more popular and effective in the communities.
Major activities include: 1) Designing and organizing basic activities, such as identifying and developing appropriate IEC materials, telephone hotline, etc.; 2) Developing skills and forming self-help group (training, technical support for new self-help group); 3) Organizing activities for HIV infected people or who are in their last phase of AIDS living in poor communities and who have recently returned home from rehabilitation centers (leaflet distribution, counseling, providing care and support for PWA and communication).

Major activities include: 1) Training 40 PLWHA and their families, who reside in the communities Phuc Xa and Phuc Tan, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi, in skills to start and improve their own small business; 2) Assisting one idea of business/ manufacturer from a group of PLWHA and their families, creating a model of locally sustainable jobs; 3) Assisting the project’s target objective in finding 10 local jobs, in cooperation with their families and communities.
