Project Name: Global Poster Competition against HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination
Region: Global
Areas of Focus: Stigma/Discrimination Reduction
Project Description: Housed with the World Council of Churches, the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance brings together 85 churches and church-related organizations worldwide for advocacy on HIV/AIDS and global trade. With Church World Service support, the EAA has launched a global poster competition as part of an ongoing campaign on HIV/AIDS. The primary goal of the project is to encourage a change in attitudes and behaviors relating to stigma and discrimination against people affected by HIV/AIDS. The global poster project is designed as a tool to educate, strengthen and support the churches and related organizations in overcoming HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in their local communities. The voices, stories, presence and involvement of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS is essential and was encouraged at every level of the project. This project developed culturally diverse and appropriate graphic images (posters) about overcoming stigma and discrimination.
